Have you found yourself spending lots of time in the kitchen this past year?
Have you found the kitchen to be the family hub space?
Due to varying lockdowns this past year I'm sure many have found themselves in
new unexpected routines as we waited for a return to normalcy...........which still hasn't arrived.
I felt like I was thrown back into the 60's.........where just about everything
took place in the kitchen! Meal time, family time, game time, coloring time, deep convos with
my parents time, fights with the siblings, etc.
The kitchen was the HUB space for everything!
In a dream one night I remembered something from my childhood. There was this guy
who went door to door selling custom "kitchen signs" and everyone in my
family purchased one and proudly hung them in their kitchen! Isn't that wild?
What a funny memory!
So I finally decided to put my Brother Design 'n Cut machine to work in the signage
department!
Signs can be found in my etsy shop at:
Tip: after struggling with trying to get the vinyl to stick onto the
the board for cutting, I happened to run into someone at my local craft store
who was in the cricut aisle, as I was. So I asked..........and the lady said "use painter's tape
along the two sides to tape the vinyl onto the board"...........what? wow, that was
some valuable information! She also said to start the cutting area just slightly down from
the top of the vinyl, this prevents the knife from getting caught up in the vinyl.
I can't tell you how many cutting boards I had purchased before getting this tip!
Works like a charm!
Happy crafting!
